Dr. med. Oberfeld ist in der Öffentlichkeit zwar deutlich leiser, bei der EU aber ist er Mitglied der 14-Köpfigen "Group of stakeholders on EMF (electromagnetic fields) (E02535)" geworden (Member Type: Individual expert appointed in his/her personal capacity).

Eigentlich schon irritierend. Vermutlich soll Herr Oberfeld ein Gegengewicht zu den Industrievertretern in dieser Gruppe bilden. An seiner Seite ist die überzeugte Elektrosensible Eileen O'Connor und Prof. M. Kundi, der sich bezüglich Gesundheitsrisiken des Elektrosmogs zunehmend weniger für Entwarnung stark macht.

Im dritten Meeting sind da doch vernünftige Sachen rausgekommen:

"At the same time, there seems to be a loss of trust in science among the public that leads to a degree of anxiety."

Wer trägt dazu wohl alles bei?

"There is a debate on the role of industry. On the one hand, there is a perception that research sponsored by industry tends to provide mostly reassuring results while on the other hand, industry has financed important studies that showed effects, and industry has a responsibility for safety towards its workers, the authorities and the public.

A number of don'ts and do's were mentioned:

• Don't: lower exposure limits arbitrarily, avoid to deal with public anxiety, over regulate...
  
• Do: get people to work pro-actively together, stimulate involvement in standard setting committees, adopt codes of conduct, put numbers in perspective..."

Die "Don't"s klingen für mich wie eine Rüge an Dr. Oberfeld.
