Elizabeth May, Canada's only Green Party MP has joined the ranks of those speaking out against the use of wireless networks.

"It is very disturbing how quickly WiFi has moved into schools as it is children who are the most vulnerable,” said Ms. May.

Faced with critical reactions from some of her 28,700 followers, Ms. May said the World Health Organization lists electromagnetic frequencies as a "possible human carcinogen.”

"I do not act without scientific info,” she said, as she called on Canadian authorities to adopt stronger controls on WiFi that are in place in Europe.

Despite her protestations, she is acting without scientific info.

Kommentar: Fulda ist überall. Eingefädelt hat diesen W-LAN-May-Day-Alarm in Kanada natürlich niemand anders als Magda Havas. Mit Elizabeth May hat sie prompt eine Dumme gefunden, die sich vor ihren Karren spannen ließ. Das hat damals kurzzeitig ziemlich viel Staub aufgewirbelt und der Pateichefin der Grünen Hohn und Spott eingebracht. Inzwischen ist Gras über den Ausrutscher gewachsen, das Thema ist begraben und der "Krieg" gegen W-LAN an Schulen abgesagt. Dennoch bleibt für die Chronik festzuhalten: Die Grüne May ist einer Pseudowissenschaftlerin (Havas) voll auf den Leim gegangen, und sie hat es probiert, wenn auch ohne Erfolg, aus dem künstlichen W-LAN-Alarm für Schulen politisches Kapital zu schlagen.
